Lakeland Clinical Trials Group
Mike and Philippa Williams established Lakeland Clinical Trials Rotorua in 2010 following their experience of clinical trials within Primary Care from 2002. Lakeland Clinical Rotorua continued to grow and is now the largest and most experienced site in the group.
We have applied our extensive knowledge and experience in community based clinical trials to an existing clinical research facility– Culloden Research in Papamoa in 2018 and thus Lakeland Clinical Trials Group was established. More significantly we have been involved in the design and set up of Lakeland Clinical Trials Waikato. We are also excited to welcome the newest members of the group – Lakeland Clinical Trials Culloden, Lakeland Clinical Trials Wellington, Anteris Clinical Research and Department of Medicine Trust Lake DHB.
Our sites are based around primary care facilities and have access to large General Practice databases. We have completed phase 1B to 4 studies in a wide range of therapeutic areas.
It is our opinion that private clinical research facilities owned and operated by Primary Care Physicians make the best research sites in NZ.
All our GPs are Experienced Principal Investigators and have the benefit of the considerable support of the LCTGroup. Lakeland Clinical Trials sites have been the highest study recruiters in NZ and also in the Asia Pacific Region. An example is a global smoking cessation study where LCT Rotorua recruited the largest cohort of patients outside of the USA.
LCTG is a foundation member of the large Australian/New Zealand network of sites – Pacific Clinical Research Network.
