Despite a smaller local population of 73,000, PCRN Rotorua is one of the most successful clinical research sites in New Zealand. Starting in 2010 as one of the first GP-based clinical trial units in New Zealand, the exceptional growth in Rotorua led to the establishment of an independent facility in 2019 dedicated to clinical trials.

How we work

Our Approach

PCRN takes great pride in the work that we do and the experience we provide to participants. Our team understands that clinical trials take time and take patients out of the comfort of their own homes. As a result of this, we do all that we can to ensure patient comfort. Our process is participant-forward. We focus on the safety and needs of our participants to ensure their health, well-being and enjoyment of a clinical trial.

The Facilities

Founded in 2010, and formerly known as Lakeland Clinical Trials, PCRN Rotorua emerged as a pioneering clinical trial unit operating within Primary Care, making them one of New Zealand’s first GP-based clinical trial units. Over the years, their commitment to research excellence has led to remarkable growth.

Effective Recruitment

PCRN Rotorua is a private research facility highly effective at recruiting patients from a small local population of only 73000 people yet outperforms most larger sites in major cities both locally and overseas.

A leading Model

We have proven that sites associated with or attached to primary care facilities make the best clinical research sites in New Zealand and now this model has been extended to the formation of the Pacific Clinical Research Network.

Bespoke Facilities

PCRN Rotorua has now moved into its own bespoke building at the start of 2019.
