Dr Tiwini Hemi is a General Practitioner of primary health care services in Hamilton since 1998. He has a particular interest in sports medicine as a result of actively playing rugby in high level provincial teams and the NZ Maori team between 1992 and 1997.
He has been the Hamilton Boys High’s 1st XV designated sports doctor to many winning tournaments in Japan and nationally 2011-2013.
He started his first medical centre as a sole GP/Owner for 15 years before establishing Avalon Medical in 2013 which is now a 12 GP practice with 12,000 patients.
He is prominent in his local community as a community leader, sports enthusiast, organisational celebrant and dedicated family man. He is dedicated to his profession to ensure quality health services are accessible to everyone and to remove health disparities amongst high needs population for preventable diseases.
Entering into the field of clinical trials is the next step to being part of a new dynamic for advancing health care services throughout the world and to offer hope to those most suffering from chronic conditions.
